Hostelling International wins Tsongas Award for Preservation

The Charles H. Dill Building in Boston, otherwise known as Hostelling International Boston, won a 2015 Tsongas Award! Each May, Preservation Massachusetts holds an awards program and dinner celebration to recognize the efforts and accomplishments of those individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to preserving the Commonwealth’s historic resources.

From 2013-2015, the Paul E. Tsongas Awards embraced a three-year thematic program with a nod to cinematic awards. The program honors the people “behind the scenes” who persevere through complex issues and make preservation projects happen. The theme for 2014 was “Lights, Camera, Action!” This year’s theme “And the Award Goes To” celebrates the culmination of many years of hard work, investment, vision, and collaboration: the completed and restored building. The Preservation Massachusetts Award Dinner was held on Wednesday, May 6 to honor select preservation projects in the state. Representing Bergmeyer were Principals Mike Davis and Joe Nevin, along with Dee Spiro and TJ DiFeo, who shared a table with the folks from Hostelling International. Together, we repositioned this historic landmark structure into a vibrant and sustainable flagship hostel.
