What does successful workplace culture mean to you?

When you are excited to come to work – which is important because you spend the majority of your life working! When your colleagues inspire you with their creativity, drive and ideas. When the people are fun to be around and the company fosters an environment that generally supports the enjoyment of being at work. All things I find here at the Berg.

What motivated you to become a designer (or current role?)?

I’ve always been a person interested in many things and creating a built environment involves so many disciplines. It’s the study of people and how they live their lives and interact with each other. You can one day find yourself getting into the details of construction materials, the next your having conversations with students on a college campus about their dining habits, or talking with an archdiocese about a historic church and what it has meant to the community, or with a retail brand about one of their iconic products.

Do you have a talent (outside of being your talented self at Bergmeyer) that you are proud of?

I have really gotten into yoga in the past year, through one of our clients CorePower Yoga. I love the type of yoga that they do – it’s a bit more fast-paced, athletic-style yoga. It’s addictive and I really like the community that they provide at CorePower. There’s nothing better than going to a hot yoga class on a cold New England winter day. Through the pandemic, they’ve offered their members free access to online classes which is holding me over until we can be back in the studio again!
