What’s the best live music show you've seen?
Cimafunk at Newport Jazz Festival in 2024. Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball was an extremely close second.
What do you listen to while working?
Nothing with words, usually jazz—lately, Hiromi’s Sonicwonderland album.
Who inspires you?
I grew up watching my Aunt Ellen, an architect and artist who created beautiful buildings and objects for her family and community. Like her, I think design is best when it’s elegant but involves some element of humor or strangeness.
Coffee or tea?
Nothing against coffee, but I’m a huge tea person. Green tea is great all year, but especially cold winter mornings, I love to have a London Fog with lavender syrup I make myself.
Where would you take a month-long road trip?
In August of 2020, my friends and I drove from Boston to Hood River, Oregon, to spend the virtual Fall semester with my aunts. It was the pandemic, so we sped across the country in only 4 days, but I’d love to take that drive again a bit more slowly (and with less wearing of masks and spraying of Lysol everywhere).
