Pressed Cafe
For a brand's 10th anniversary and 10th location, evolution means staying true to your core while embracing a warmer, more refined expression of growth.
Celebrating a decade of fresh-pressed success, Pressed Café opened its 10th location in Boston's bustling Seaport District, marking a significant evolution for the growing brand. Seeking a fresh design perspective, Pressed Café partnered with Bergmeyer to expand their Boston footprint with a second city location that would honor their core values while elevating their aesthetic for the next chapter of growth.
The 4,292-square-foot interior fit-out presented unique technical challenges, particularly the integration of an 800-square-foot equipment and storage mezzanine. Threading structural components through existing base building services required extensive coordination between our structural and MEP consultants, the general contractor, and the building's structural team. Through open communication, strategic planning sessions, and multiple site visits, we concealed the entire mezzanine within the main soffit above the serve line, solving complex spatial puzzles through collaboration rather than simply increasing the budget.
Our design approach began with a deep dive into Pressed Café's brand DNA, identifying the common threads that connect all their locations while crafting an evolution appropriate for this milestone. The result is a notably warmer palette that leans into natural wood tones, peachy beige hues, and rich upholstery, punctuated by bright accents, layered patterns and textures, ambient glowing light, and abundant greenery. This elevated aesthetic reflects the brand's maturation while maintaining the fresh, health-conscious energy that defines the Pressed Café experience.
Beyond traditional architectural services, we extended our role into procurement and staging, curating the finishing touches that bring personality to the space. Open daily on Pier 4 Boulevard, the Seaport location serves delectable bites to Boston's waterfront community, a vibrant new chapter for a brand pressing forward.
